I love developing products and have worked on many kinds - including web publishing platforms, board games, apps for children, digital publishing and recently, a large platform for strategic and financial planning, business intelligence and corporate reporting.

When working on products, the user experience has a special place in my heart. I am not a designer, but I love collaborating with them to ensure that the products we work on bring value to our customers and are intuitive to use. I constantly try out new apps to find inspiration for my own work. My focus on the customer experience is why I prioritize meeting with customers and users. By understanding their situation, their needs and their goals can we prioritize and design features that bring value to our customers.

One of the great advantages of working in Product is that you get to collaborate with brilliant people from all business areas - sales, marketing, services and R&D. Accomplishing great things together is a reward that never gets old. Up until a few years ago, I contributed front-end code, but these days, I concentrate on facilitating discussions on prioritization, scope and design. I think that coming from a coding background helps me work well with developers. I even taught programming courses a while back and I enjoy communicating through presentations and text.

I am a huge music nerd. In another life I would be a songwriter or producer, but in this real life, I have settled on listening. I criss-cross the last 70 years of music, soaking in the sounds as well as the stories around the music. I also love photography. These days, I mostly take family photos, but when I can, I love shooting black and white street photos.
