I actually never considered becoming a developer, until I got introduced to programming during a Java class at university - but then I was hooked.

For a few years as a hobby, I would just tinker a bit with websites, building sites using nothing but pure vanilla JavaScript (shame on you, old me). But still, I had no desire to code for a living. During this time I traveled a lot, leaving Germany to work with Marketing in Amsterdam, afterward studying remotely while traveling in South Africa. It was actually there, I decided to really concentrate on coding, so I moved to Sweden to take my first job as a Web Developer!

By now, there is no doubt for me that coding is my big passion. There are few things more satisfying than building something out of nothing, and especially together with a great team, only the sky is the limit. Things I am most excited about in the future are the development of the major JavaScript frameworks, component utilities like Storybook, and the rising awareness of the need for Design Systems.

Outside the digital world, I enjoy lifting weights at the gym, cooking, playing (board) games, or having a beer or two together with friends. Travelling and camping are other activities I would like to pick up more often again as well!
